EXPERIENCE

I foster connections through my own self-awareness, and a heightened awareness of both the needs and behaviours of others. This enables me to build rapid rapport with clients early on, anticipate potential problems, validate concerns through active listening, and offer, not only solutions to simple and complex issues, but provide genuine, good company and mentorship.
I have a Certificate lll in Disability, a Working with Children Disability Clearance, a First Aid Certificate and years of industry experience working for multiple disability organisations. My capacity for support and mentorship, however, come first and foremost, from living with a debilitating illness for over a decade. This trying time of my life equipped me with the tools to manage my own condition, as well as build a level of empathy and understanding that is hard to acquire without first-hand experience. Throughout this time, I learned not to pity myself nor make excuses for my situation and I extend this respect to my clients, equipping them with the skills and resilience to navigate obstacles and overcome adversity.

It is said that age brings wisdom. I am 43 years old and have spent my whole life living the very existence that the NDIS is seeking to promote. I lead an exceedingly healthy life style, comprising a regimented routine of healthy eating, sleeping, fitness, creativity and learning. A lifelong learner, I constantly seek out mentors of my own to further my ongoing self and professional development. I live the life that I promote and frequently add new and exciting skills to my repertoire, which provide me with the tools to create unforgettable experiences for my clients.
Since starting my business, I have conducted a multitude of respites in a diverse array of locations across South Australia including; tent camping on a cattle station in The Flinders Ranges, contact with 300 million year old fossils in Alligator George, reconnecting a client with estranged family in Whyalla after twenty years apart, snorkelling expeditions of underwater gardens and sink holes in Mount Gambier, a fine dining experience at a premier Italian restaurant in Adelaide - at the request to provide an older client with a ‘gentleman’s evening’.
The individualised opportunities I create are tailored in conjunction with supporting weekly work commitments and food preparation, which normalise the development of healthy habits and routines, to promote active societal participation.
